Federated Hermes S-T Sterling Prime is a short-term money market fund that aims to earn income while preserving capital and keeping assets liquid by holding a diversified portfolio of high-quality, short-dated debt and fixed-income instruments. The fund’s holdings include fixed- and floating-rate commercial paper, floating rate notes, certificates of deposit, freely transferable promissory notes, debentures, asset‑backed securities, bonds and covered bonds, and it can also hold bank deposits. Those securities may be issued by governments and their agencies, supranational bodies, banks and other financial institutions, and UK and non‑UK corporations, and the fund can invest heavily in instruments issued or guaranteed by governments and public bodies (including the UK government and the Bank of England). The fund does not use derivatives and is managed to meet low-volatility, short-term money market fund standards.
