Let's talk about money
Talking about money is not exactly deeply rooted in our culture, but it has many advantages.
We talk about all sorts of things, nutrition, fitness programs, new apps that entertain us or supposedly increase our efficiency. The topic of money remains a taboo for most of us. UMushroom wants to change this and has created a platform that also encourages people to talk about money.
“There are wealthy people who have been in survival mode all their lives.”
“Money has a completely different meaning for everyone,” say the founders of UMushroom Luba Schönig and Tonia Zimmermann. “For some, money is something that ensures their survival. For others, it's something that opens up opportunities such as vacations, being able to afford things or enabling others to do things. Interestingly, the different attitudes towards money are not linked to how wealthy you are. There are people who have a relatively large fortune and still spend their entire lives in survival mode,” the two explain. “The importance we attach to money seems to depend more on how we view life in general.”
What role it plays
Why does it matter?“ The way you handle money, your financial planning and, last but not least, your risk profile, which has a significant influence on your own investment strategy, varies from person to person,” they explain. ”We think it's important to deal with this and discuss it.”
On the UMushroom platform, the two take a playful approach to the topic. Anyone can take a quiz to find out what type of investor they are.Tonia, for example, is the “Happy Professor”, Luba the “Responsible Nerd” - I was assigned the type “Do I really get it”.
“Of course, that's not meant too seriously,” they say with a wink.Nevertheless, the quiz leads you through many relevant questions that make you think about your own attitude and how you deal with money.
Logically, the quiz only serves as an introduction to the topic. The platform enriches its users with a comprehensive investment guide, training opportunities and a community where you can exchange ideas - about money and your investment ideas. What do you think? Let's talk about it.
