Order Intake

In Q4 FY 2024, Siemens Energy AG reported a significant increase in order intake, reaching €15.0 billion. This represents a growth of 42.3% on a comparable basis, driven primarily by large orders in Grid Technologies and Gas Services. The Transformation of Industry segment achieved its highest order intake in a quarter to date, while Siemens Gamesa's orders were close to the prior-year quarter's level. The book-to-bill ratio was 1.54, leading to an order backlog of €123 billion at year-end.

Revenue Growth

Siemens Energy AG's revenue for Q4 FY 2024 was €9.7 billion, marking a 16.6% increase on a comparable basis. This growth was largely attributed to the performance of Grid Technologies and Siemens Gamesa, with the latter experiencing strong revenue growth in its offshore business. The ongoing ramp-up in these segments contributed significantly to the overall revenue increase.

Profit and Loss

For Q4 FY 2024, Siemens Energy AG reported a negative profit before special items of €83 million, an improvement from the negative €487 million in Q4 FY 2023. The company's profit was negatively impacted by expected losses at Siemens Gamesa. Special items decreased to negative €32 million, and the overall profit for the quarter was negative €115 million, compared to negative €551 million in the previous year.

Net Loss and Earnings Per Share

Siemens Energy AG incurred a net loss of €254 million in Q4 FY 2024, an improvement from the net loss of €870 million in Q4 FY 2023. Correspondingly, the basic earnings per share (EPS) were negative at €0.34, compared to negative €1.04 in the prior-year quarter. Despite the losses, the company showed progress in reducing its net loss year-over-year.

Free Cash Flow

In Q4 FY 2024, Siemens Energy AG's free cash flow pre-tax amounted to €932 million, which was stronger than expected but below the prior-year quarter's level of €1,108 million. The decrease was primarily due to reduced cash flow at Siemens Gamesa. Nevertheless, all segments delivered positive cash flows, contributing to the company's overall financial performance.
