Europris ASA reported strong financial results for the second quarter of 2025, demonstrating significant sales growth and operational improvements across its Norwegian and Swedish segments. Despite a slight decline in gross margin, the company achieved increased EBIT and net profit, supported by effective cost control and strategic integration efforts.

Sales Growth

The group achieved total sales of NOK 3,802 million in Q2 2025, marking a 22.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The growth was driven by higher foot traffic and an increase in average basket value in Norway, as well as the inclusion of the ÖoB chain for an additional month.

Segment Performance

Segment Norway reported sales of NOK 2,660 million, up 11.7%, while Segment Sweden, including the ÖoB chain, achieved sales of NOK 1,142 million with a 4.7% like-for-like growth in local currency. The Norwegian segment outperformed the market average, reflecting enhanced in-store execution and well-stocked shelves.

Gross Margin

The gross margin for Q2 2025 stood at 40.6%, a decrease of 1.3 percentage points from the previous year. The decline was attributed to the additional month of ÖoB operations and a higher proportion of sales from consumables and campaigns.

Operating Expenses and Profitability

Operating expenditures were NOK 855 million, with an improved opex-to-sales ratio of 22.5%, down from 23.6% last year, driven by cost control measures and scale effects from the Easter period. EBIT increased to NOK 423 million (11.1% margin) from NOK 339 million (10.9% margin) in the previous year, while net profit rose to NOK 276 million.

CEO Commentary and Outlook

CEO Espen Eldal expressed confidence in the company’s strategic direction, highlighting the successful integration and remodeling of ÖoB stores in Sweden. The outlook remains positive, with expectations of continued growth supported by strong consumer spending and effective management of external economic factors.
