INFICON Holding Inc. has released its half-year financial results for 2025, demonstrating a slight increase in net sales compared to the previous year. However, the company faced challenges with declining operating and net incomes, primarily due to increased operating expenses and margin pressures.

Net Sales Growth

For the first half of 2025, INFICON reported net sales of USD 325.7 million, marking a modest increase from USD 321.2 million in the same period last year. This growth was driven by strong performance in key markets, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.

Decline in Operating and Net Income

Operating income decreased to USD 57.2 million (17.6% of net sales) from USD 65.0 million (20.2% of net sales) in H1 2024. Net income also fell by 17.1% to USD 43.2 million compared to USD 52.1 million a year earlier, impacted by higher operating expenses and decreased gross margins.

Gross Margin Pressure

The gross profit margin declined to 46.2% in the first half of 2025, down from 47.5% in H1 2024. This reduction was primarily due to higher tariffs, temporary production relocation costs, and unfavorable product mix effects, partially offset by strategic pricing measures.

Geographic and End Market Performance

Sales in the Asia Pacific region remained robust at USD 174.9 million, contributing significant growth. Europe and North America also showed stable performance with sales of USD 73.2 million and USD 75.5 million, respectively. In terms of end markets, Semi & Vacuum Coating led with USD 159.0 million in sales, followed by General Vacuum at USD 82.3 million.

Strengthened Cash Position

INFICON's cash and short-term investments increased to USD 141.7 million as of June 30, 2025, up from USD 98.5 million the previous year. The company's net cash position improved to USD 38.5 million, supported by lower acquisition spending and favorable exchange rate impacts.
