Oxford Instruments PLC has announced its full-year financial results for the 12 months ending 31 March 2025, showcasing strong revenue growth and strategic advancements, including the sale of its quantum business.

Revenue Growth

Revenue surpassed £500 million for the first time, increasing by 6.5% at organic constant currency (OCC). This growth was driven by robust performance in semiconductor and materials analysis, offsetting ongoing challenges in the healthcare and life sciences sectors. Strong sales across North America, Asia, and Europe, along with a successful expansion into new markets in China, contributed significantly to this achievement.

Profitability Improvements

Adjusted operating profit rose to £82.2 million, marking a 10.8% increase at OCC, with the adjusted operating profit margin expanding to 17.8% OCC, up by 70 basis points. These improvements were supported by operational efficiencies and a streamlined Group structure, particularly within the Imaging & Analysis and Advanced Technologies divisions.

Strategic Business Moves

The company entered into a binding agreement to sell its NanoScience quantum business for £60 million, with £3 million deferred. This strategic sale allows Oxford Instruments PLC to concentrate on high-growth and high-margin sectors, accelerating progress towards its medium-term margin targets. Additionally, the company announced a £50 million share buyback programme, enhancing shareholder value.

Financial Position and Dividend

Oxford Instruments PLC maintains a strong financial position with net cash of £84.4 million after acquisition considerations. The normalised cash conversion improved to 89% from 64% in the previous year. The company also declared a 6.7% increase in the total dividend to 22.2p, up from 20.8p in 2024.
