Record Sales Revenues

Rational AG reported record sales revenues of 294.8 million euros in the second quarter of 2024, a 6% increase from the previous year's 278.3 million euros. For the first half of 2024, sales revenues reached 581.2 million euros, marking a 4% rise compared to 560.8 million euros in the same period of 2023.

Strong Regional Growth

Rational AG experienced significant growth in the Asia North segment, with sales revenues increasing by 28% to 62.9 million euros in the first half of 2024. The North America segment also saw a 2% rise, reaching 139.8 million euros. The EMEA segment edged up by 1% to 233.1 million euros, while the DACH segment saw a slight decline of 3% to 84.2 million euros.

Product Group Performance

The iVario product group showed strong growth, with sales revenues increasing by 15% to 33.3 million euros in the second quarter of 2024. For the first half of the year, iVario sales revenues were up 11% to 64.0 million euros. The iCombi product group also saw a 5% increase in second-quarter sales revenues, reaching 261.5 million euros.

Improved Gross Margin

Rational AG's cost of sales decreased by 3% in the first half of 2024, amounting to 238.9 million euros. This led to an improved gross margin of 58.9%, up from 56.1% in the same period of 2023. The company benefited from lower cost levels compared to the previous year and expects commodity and component costs to stabilize.

EBIT Margin and Profit

Rational AG reported an EBIT margin of 25.6% for the first half of 2024, up from 24.3% in the same period of 2023. The profit after taxes increased by 10% to 117.1 million euros, compared to 106.1 million euros in the first half of 2023. Earnings per share also rose by 10%, reaching 10.30 euros.
