Revenue Performance

In the first nine months of 2024, Swisscom Ltd. reported a slight decline in group revenue, which fell by 0.4% to CHF 8,173 million. However, when adjusted for constant exchange rates, this translates to a minor increase of 0.3%. The Swiss core business experienced a revenue drop of 1.7% to CHF 5,966 million, while Fastweb in Italy showed positive growth with a revenue increase of EUR 120 million, or 6.3% year-on-year.

Operating Income and EBITDA

Swisscom Ltd.'s consolidated operating income before depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) decreased by 1.1% year-on-year to CHF 3,438 million. When excluding non-recurring items and at constant exchange rates, the decrease was slightly less at 0.9%. The Swiss core business saw a 1.6% decline in EBITDA on a like-for-like basis, while Fastweb's comparable EBITDA increased by 1.3% in EUR terms.

Net Income

For the first nine months of 2024, Swisscom Ltd. reported a consolidated net income of CHF 1,283 million, marking a 2.1% decrease compared to the same period in the previous year. This decline reflects the challenges faced in the Swiss core business, despite efficiency improvements and growth in the Italian market through Fastweb.

Capital Expenditure

Swisscom Ltd. increased its capital expenditure by 6.2% to CHF 1,731 million in the first nine months of 2024. In Switzerland alone, capital expenditure rose by 8.8% to CHF 1,298 million, underscoring the company's commitment to enhancing its network infrastructure and maintaining its technological edge.

Financial Outlook

Swisscom Ltd. has confirmed its financial outlook for 2024, expecting revenue of around CHF 11.0 billion and EBITDA between CHF 4.5 and 4.6 billion. The company plans to maintain its capital expenditure at approximately CHF 2.3 billion. Subject to achieving these targets, Swisscom intends to propose an unchanged dividend of CHF 22 per share for the 2024 financial year at the 2025 Annual General Meeting.
