In the fourth quarter of 2023 and the full year ending May 2024, Skistar AB reported continued growth with increased margins and a stable booking situation ahead of the coming winter season. The company strengthened its position as Scandinavia’s leading player in mountain tourism, driven by higher guest numbers and robust financial performance.

Fourth Quarter Performance

Net sales for the fourth quarter reached SEK 339 million, marking a 3% increase when adjusted for non-recurring items. Operating profit/loss for the quarter was SEK -279 million, influenced by an adjustment to accounting policies related to Skiab Invest. Despite slower-than-expected growth, guest numbers and sales at destinations increased, supported by the acquisition of Trysilguidene and strong performance in sports goods stores.

Full Year Financial Growth

For the full year, Skistar AB achieved a net sales increase of SEK 398 million, totaling SEK 4,679 million, and an operating profit rise of SEK 124 million to SEK 740 million. The operating margin improved to 16%, and cash flow from operating activities surged by SEK 415 million to SEK 1,084 million. This growth reflects successful strategic investments in destination development and enhanced guest experiences.

Stable Winter Booking Outlook

Looking ahead to the 2024/25 winter season, Skistar AB reports a stable booking situation, maintaining bookings at approximately the same level as the previous year. Early promotions, particularly in Denmark, have resulted in record early bookings, while recent economic measures have positively influenced household prioritization of mountain holidays.

Throughout the year, Skistar AB continued to invest in improving guest experiences and operational efficiency, including new lifts in key locations and the electrification of SkiStar Hammarbybacken. The company is also committed to sustainability, leading industry discussions to drive joint initiatives within the mountain tourism sector.
