Trelleborg AB reported its second quarter of 2025 with a slight decline in net sales and organic growth amidst a challenging global market environment. Despite these headwinds, the company maintained solid profitability and continued to execute strategic acquisitions, positioning itself for potential growth in the latter half of the year.

Net Sales and Organic Growth

Net sales for Q2 2025 decreased by 2% to SEK 8,551 million, with organic sales falling by 1% compared to the same period last year. Acquisitions positively contributed 6% to sales, while unfavorable exchange rate effects reduced sales by 7%.

Profitability and Margins

EBITA, excluding items affecting comparability, saw a slight decrease of 1% to SEK 1,587 million. However, the EBITA margin improved marginally to 18.6% from 18.4%, reflecting strong operational execution and a balanced pricing strategy despite lower production volumes.

Segment Performance

Trelleborg Industrial Solutions experienced a slight increase in organic sales, although performance varied across sub-segments. Trelleborg Medical Solutions reported a minor decline in organic sales due to cautious purchasing in North America, while Trelleborg Sealing Solutions saw a drop in sales primarily from the automotive industry, offset by strong growth in the aerospace sector.

Strategic Investments and Acquisitions

The company continued to strengthen its global presence with the expansion of its Malta facility and planned inaugurations in Vietnam and Costa Rica. Additionally, Trelleborg completed three bolt-on acquisitions during the quarter and signed an agreement to acquire Masterseals, enhancing its capabilities in niche markets.

Market Outlook

Entering the second half of 2025 with cautious optimism, Trelleborg expects demand in the third quarter to be somewhat higher than in the second quarter, despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. The company remains focused on strategic growth and operational resilience.
