Umicore SA reported strong financial results for the first half of 2025, showcasing increased earnings compared to the previous year. This performance was driven by sustained demand, operational efficiency measures across the Group, and a supportive metal price environment.

Revenue and Profit Growth

The company achieved revenues of €1.8 billion and an adjusted net profit of €135 million, reflecting significant year-on-year increases. Adjusted EBITDA reached €433 million with a margin of 24.3%, while adjusted EBIT stood at €302 million with a margin of 17.0%.

Strong Catalysis Performance

The Catalysis Business Group delivered outstanding results, with revenues and earnings surpassing those of the first half of 2024. Adjusted EBITDA for Catalysis reached €232 million, the second highest in its history, driven by stable automotive catalyst volumes and strong demand in Precious Metals Chemistry and Fuel Cell & Stationary Catalysts.

Battery Materials Solutions Update

Revenues in the Battery Materials Solutions Business Group amounted to €212 million, slightly below the previous year due to lower volumes and refining income. Adjusted EBIT was €-54 million, reflecting strategic focus on value recovery and efficiency improvements.

Operational Efficiency and Capital Deployment

Umicore implemented efficiency measures exceeding €50 million and maintained strict capital expenditures of €109 million. The adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 24.3%, up from 21.8% in the first half of 2024. Cash flow from operations was €62 million, with a net debt of €1,829 million.

Safety and Sustainability

The total recordable injury rate for Umicore’s own employees was 4.4 per 1 million exposure hours, demonstrating continued commitment to workplace safety.
