Third Quarter Overview

Woodward Inc. reported net sales of $848 million for the third quarter of fiscal year 2024, marking a 6 percent increase from the $801 million reported in the same period of the previous year. Aerospace Segment Performance

In the third quarter of fiscal year 2024, Woodward Inc.'s Aerospace segment achieved net sales of $518 million, an 8 percent increase from $481 million in the same quarter of the previous year. The segment's earnings were $102 million, or 19.7 percent of segment net sales, compared to $83 million, or 17.3 percent of segment net sales, in the prior year.

Industrial Segment Performance

Woodward Inc.'s Industrial segment reported net sales of $330 million for the third quarter of fiscal year 2024, a 3 percent increase from $320 million in the same period of the previous year. Segment earnings were $60 million, or 18.1 percent of segment net sales, compared to $58 million, or 18.2 percent of segment net sales, in the prior year.

Year-to-Date Results

For the first nine months of fiscal year 2024, Woodward Inc. reported net sales of $2.47 billion, compared to $2.14 billion in the same period of the previous year. Net earnings for the first nine months were $290 million, or $4.65 per share, compared to $150 million, or $2.44 per share, in the prior year.

Cash Flow and Financial Position

Woodward Inc. generated $297 million in net cash from operating activities during the first nine months of fiscal year 2024, compared to $156 million in the same period of the previous year. Free cash flow for the first nine months was $225 million, compared to $98 million in the prior year, with adjusted free cash flow at $230 million, up from $103 million.
