It does this by holding positions that are short on the Euro and long on the US Dollar through FX forward contracts. Additionally, the fund takes advantage of the interest rate differences between the two currencies. Essentially, if the Euro decreases in value compared to the Dollar, the fund increases in value, and conversely, if the Euro strengthens, the fund’s value decreases.
