The Allianz Emerging Markets Sovereign Bond fund seeks long-term capital growth by primarily investing over 70% in bonds issued by emerging market countries or those included in the JP Morgan EMBI Global Diversified index. Up to 30% of the portfolio may be allocated to corporate bonds, excluding quasi-sovereigns unless backed by an emerging market government. Additionally, the fund can invest up to 20% in asset-backed or mortgage-backed securities, up to 15% in bonds from the Chinese bond markets, and includes high-yield bonds with various credit ratings. To manage liquidity, the fund also holds money market instruments and deposits.
