The fund aims to deliver returns broadly in line with money market rates while preserving the value of your investment. It is an actively managed short-term low-volatility money market fund that seeks to build a diversified portfolio of high-grade Sterling-denominated debt and debt-related instruments. In practice, this means investing in securities such as commercial paper, term deposits, floating rate notes, certificates of deposit, freely transferable promissory notes, debentures, asset-backed securities and bonds, with a limited allocation of up to 10% to other short-term money market funds. The portfolio is designed to stay very short dated, with a weighted average maturity of 60 days or less and no holding with a residual maturity beyond 397 days. Investments may be sourced from markets around the world, but they are typically priced in Sterling, and any non-Sterling exposure is hedged back to Sterling. The manager appears to focus on credit quality, liquidity and maturity control, while also applying ESG analysis and issuer screening where relevant to support the fund’s environmental and social characteristics.
