General Objective
The objective of this fund is to provide high current income generation and, where appropriate, capital appreciation.
Fund Exposure
The fund primarily invests in a portfolio of high yield corporate debt instruments worldwide, focusing on North American and European high yield instruments. It also invests to a lesser extent in other types of debt instruments such as investment grade bonds, other funds, cash and cash-equivalent securities, and money market instruments. The fund will invest at least 50% of its total assets in fixed income instruments of companies that exhibit positive or improving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) characteristics.
Risks
Some of the risks associated with this fund include the potential for losses if an organization through which assets are bought fails to meet its obligations, the use of derivative instruments which can result in profit or loss, exposure to changes in exchange rates between the fund's currency and the currencies in which assets are valued, and the risks of investing in low rated (high yield) or unrated debt securities which offer higher returns but are subject to greater default risks. Additionally, there are greater risks investing in emerging markets compared to developed markets due to economic, political, or structural challenges.
