The Fund aims to achieve long-term capital growth on your investment. The Fund seeks to gain at least 80% of its investment exposure to equity securities (e.g. shares) of companies incorporated or listed in either developed or emerging markets. This is achieved by investing at least 80% of its total assets in equity securities and other equity-related securities and may, when deemed appropriate, invest in money market instruments (MMIs)(i.e. debt securities with short term maturities), deposits and cash. The equity-related securities include financial derivative instruments (FDIs) (i.e. investments the prices of which are based on one or more underlying assets). The MMIs may be issued by governments, government agencies, companies and supranationals (e.g. the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development) and may be investment grade (i.e. meet a specified level of credit worthiness), non-investment grade or unrated at the time of purchase. In order to achieve its investment objective and policy, the Fund will invest in a variety of investment strategies and instruments. In particular, the Fund will use quantitative (i.e. mathematical or statistical) models in order to achieve a systematic (i.e. rule based) approach to stock selection. This means that stocks will be selected based on their expected contribution to portfolio returns when risk and transaction cost forecasts are taken into account. The Fund is actively managed and the investment adviser (IA) has discretion to select the Fund's investments. In doing so, the IA may refer to the MSCI All Country World Index (the “Index”) when constructing the Fund’s portfolio, and also for risk management purposes to ensure that the active risk (i.e. degree of deviation from the Index) taken by the Fund remains appropriate given the Fund’s investment objective and policy. The IA is not bound by the components or weighting of the Index when selecting investments. The IA may also use its discretion to invest in securities not included in the Index in order to take advantage of specific investment opportunities. The Fund’s portfolio holdings are expected to deviate materially from the Index. The Index should be used by shareholders to compare the performance of the Fund. Recommendation: This Fund may not be appropriate for short-term investment. Your shares will be non-distributing (i.e. dividend income will be included in their value). The Fund’s base currency is US Dollar. Shares for this class are bought and sold in Japanese Yen. The performance of your shares may be affected by this currency difference. You can buy and sell your shares daily. The minimum initial investment for this share class is US$10,000,000 or other currency equivalent. For more information on the Fund, share/unit classes, risks and charges, please see the Fund's prospectus, available on the product pages at www.blackrock.com
