The fund aims to achieve capital appreciation by investing primarily in securities of developing countries, including those from the Pacific Basin, Latin America, Emerging Europe, and Africa.

The fund's exposure includes investing at least 66% of its net assets in equity securities, including common stocks, and at least 90% of its net assets in convertible bonds, warrants, and common stocks on transferable securities. The fund follows a predominantly mid & large caps, growth style, pure stock picking approach, focusing on investment in firms that could benefit from the development of the targeted regions. The portfolio is concentrated, holding less than 70 stocks, and may also include ancillary liquid assets or cash equivalent transferable debt securities.
