Invesco Asian Fund (UK) is an actively managed fund seeking long-term capital growth by investing mainly in companies across Asia and Australasia, excluding Japan. It puts at least 80% of its assets into shares and other equity-related securities of companies incorporated, domiciled or carrying out most of their economic activity in the region, and may also hold other transferable securities, money-market instruments, collective investment schemes, deposits and cash. The managers use a contrarian, valuation-led stock-picking approach, looking for shares trading below their estimate of fair value while favouring cash-generative businesses with strong balance sheets. Performance is compared with the MSCI AC Asia Pacific ex Japan Index, but the fund is actively managed and not constrained by that benchmark.
