Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is India's premier state-owned aerospace and defence company, incorporated on August 16, 1963 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. A Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, HAL designs, develops, manufactures, repairs and overhauls aircraft, helicopters, engines, avionics and accessories for the Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Indian Army and civilian aviation. Key programmes include Tejas LCA, Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH Dhruv), LCH Prachand, IMRH, Hindustan Trainer HT-40 and support to Su-30MKI, MiG aircraft. In March 2026, HAL secured a ₹5,083 crore contract from the Ministry of Defence. Revenue approximately ₹29,100 crore for FY25. Listed on both BSE and NSE (HAL) via IPO in March 2018. Market capitalisation approximately ₹2.60 lakh crore.
