Sodexo reported its first half of Fiscal 2025 results, showcasing steady revenue growth and improved operating profit. The company's performance was driven by strong performances in food services and significant gains in various geographic regions, despite challenges in certain segments and regions.

Revenue Growth

Sodexo achieved consolidated revenues of €12.5 billion in the first half of Fiscal 2025, marking a 3.1% year-on-year increase. This growth includes a 3.5% organic revenue rise, offset slightly by negative currency impacts and net contributions from acquisitions and disposals.

Operating Profit

The underlying operating profit rose by 6.4% to €651 million, with the operating margin improving by 10 basis points to 5.2%. Adjusted for other operating income and expenses, the underlying net profit reached €450 million, a 5.4% increase.

Geographic Performance

North America led with a 3.5% organic growth, Europe followed with 2.1%, and the Rest of the World region saw a robust 6.6% increase. Strong performances in India, Brazil, and Australia contributed significantly to the global growth.

Full-Year Guidance

Sodexo updated its full-year Fiscal 2025 guidance, projecting organic revenue growth between 3% and 4%, and an underlying operating profit margin improvement of 10 to 20 basis points at constant currencies. This revision reflects ongoing challenges in the Education segment in North America and delays in contract commencements.

Net Profit and Cash Flow

Group net profit declined by 12.5% to €434 million, primarily due to an exceptional capital gain in the prior year. Free cash flow for the first half was a negative €234 million, influenced by an exceptional tax outflow related to a tax audit in France.

Sustainability and Awards

Sodexo was recognized in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025 and improved its EcoVadis score to the top 2% in sustainability rankings. Additionally, it was named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies® by Ethisphere for the second consecutive year.
